Have you ever asked yourself this question?
I am 23 and I’ve found my passion. AM I TOO LATE?
We feel like most people would be able to relate to this situation.
Some people are lucky if they know from day 1 what they want out of their lives. But for some of us, we struggle. We often go to a different kind of school thinking this is all we have to pursue, only to realise later that the little fire inside us is burning for something else.
Is it too late then to leave everything and ignite that fire?
Here’s 5 reasons why it’s not.
1. YOU DON’T WANT TO LIVE WITH REGRET
No matter how people react or what they tell you, it is absolutely never too late.
Okay, it’s not the most ideal situation, but it is one path you need to walk on.
Who wants to live an unsatisfying life only to grow old with ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys’? Only because you were too scared to do something about it?
2. WHO YOU ARE IS NOT SET IN STONE
It’s kind of expected to not know who you are at the end of Junior High. As frustrating as it is, to some degree, it’s also accepted to not have a clue after graduating High School.
However, the pressure to figure it out is real. You are meant to go to University and you need to know which one.
Some often go to a certain Uni thinking this is all they want to do in life and later realise that they can’t continue being and working as this person.
Who you are is not set in stone. It’s never too late to change yourself.Because if you don’t run on your passions, you’ll eventually stop.
3. ONE JOB IS NOT MEANT TO BE FOREVER
If you’re feeling lost in your twenties, don’t fret it. Once you’re sure of what you want, do it!
Most people get that realisation after living their entire lives, after dedicating decades of hard work on the job they hated, that they don’t belong here.
You don’t have to stick to your job for a lifetime. If you’re not happy with it, change it.
Most people get comfortable in their workspace and take it for granted. Some have worked in the same environment for years and are scared to leave it and handle uncertainty.
But what good would a whole deal of unhappiness do to you? Step out of your comfort zone. Learn something new.
4. THE WORLD IS SMALL
Our advice, find where you belong. And go there.
It’s as simple as that.
Get on a plane. Travel more. Search for that missing piece.
5. NO, IT DOES NOT MEAN TAKING A STEP BACKWARDS
It may seem like you’re wasting your life’s efforts and hard work away and well, to some extent you are. But who is to say that you can’t build your sand castle from scratch? If you’re prepared to work hard to achieve your dreams, all is well that ends well, right?
What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
Set off on your merry way to your dreams.
