What’s new, Oman?
Have you tried the latest addition to our taste palette in Muscat?
SAYING HELLO TO OMAN, WAGAMAMA STYLE!
Wagamama Oman recently had their official opening on the 17th of December, 2017. A delightful day for the foodies in Muscat!
Wagamama is a British-headquartered restaurant chain that serves Asian food inspired by Japanese flavours.
We were lucky enough to attend the soft opening event on the 13th of December, 2017.
It was such a fun and happening event!
We had good vibes for the event as we were welcomed in the pleasant outdoors with festive decorations and delicious sparkling elderflower drinks.
We witnessed a traditional Thai dance, which was an unexpected, yet entertaining surprise.
Following this, the British ambassador along with a couple more honorable personalities cut the ribbon, and lo and behold, Wagamama was official in our little town!
The interior of the place is so beautifully done, very unlike the one found in Dubai, which is always a bonus. Wagamama generally have a very street food like interior, however, they’ve amped it up a notch for the taste of the local Omani’s. Their typical open kitchen style was maintained, though, much to our liking.
We received a slightly altered event menu. However, everything we had was pleasant to those good ol’ taste buds.
Our energetic host for the evening never let us get bored. His constant announcements and interaction with the guests kept the yawns at bay.
We had the option to get White Henna done on our hands while waiting for the food to arrive, which was a unique experience.
Korean Calligraphy was another, most exciting service they had for the event. We could have our names written in Korean, which spread a ripple of excitement in the crowd when announced.
We were all given a fortune cookie card, and everybody got something for free to use in the future at the restaurant. Delightful!
Below are some pictures of the food we had.
