Oh boy. Too much spice. Sniff!
TABAQ restaurant, located in Ruwi near Centrepoint, serves a variety of Pakistani cuisine for the lovers of delicious, spice filled food.
We couldn’t resist but try their Iftar Buffet out which was priced at 5.9 OMR and 4.5 OMR for their Dinner Buffet.
A lavish spread of starters like Arabic salads, pasta salad, Chana Chaat and everybody’s favourite variety of fried items, juices, dates and a yum fruit salad were at our disposal as Iftar.
The mains included barbeque that smelt too good to be true after breaking our fast, Shezwan noodles, Pakistani meat and vegetarian curries and Biryani, of course.
Dessert was very well presented and looked most appealing. The cutest were the half cut Gulab Jamuns that looked so pretty in tiny bowls and tasted even better!
Would we recommend?
Now this is purely personal preference, but if you can tolerate the spice, you will love this place!
Authentic bursts of flavours and the spices (minus the chili) just right, the food was spot on. In terms of taste, we were certainly wowed!
The spice level, not so much. But then that’s probably just us.
