We are avid foodies, if it wasn’t evident already. George Bernard Shaw aptly states, “There is no love sincerer than the love of food,” and we don’t hold that against him. Trying out new places to eat is probably our most favourite thing to do (other than taking pictures of it and reviewing it for you!). So it was a Ruby Tuesday kind of a Friday for us this time.

RUBY TUESDAY

Located at Oman Avenues Mall, Ruby Tuesday is a casual American chain, sporting a vast menu. They satisfy lovers of burgers, steaks, seafood, chicken, salads and those with an extra pair of sweet teeth, all with American flair.

The ambience is light and fun, with a pleasant seating area in and out of the restaurant walls (not outdoors, still under the roof of the Mall). We sat outside, next to the hustle bustle of Funtazmo, which was great entertainment till our food arrived.

Speaking of food, let’s cut straight to the chase, shall we?

THE FOOD

APPETIZERS

We went for the Mozzarella Sticks, which were 6 pieces and came on a bed of lettuce and a side of a cute ketchup bucket. They were very well done, served hot, and delicious.

DRINKS

Our drinks were the Tropical Mango Margarita and Classic Mijito; both delectable.

MAIN COURSE

Main number 1 – The Smokehouse Burger

It was absolutely scrumptious. Loved every bite. The beef was moist and well done, the sauces were just right and the bun was fresh and soft.

It was served with French fries and a bucket of ketchup.

With a burger of that size along with fries, it was surely a ginormous serving size, but delicious nonetheless.

Main number 2 – Southern Style Chicken Tender Dinner

We obviously expected chicken upon ordering this, but boy did we get the shock of our lives when this dish arrived!

Don’t get us wrong, we do love fried chicken A LOT but this serving size was RIDICULOUS!
However, it was absolutely delicious! Served boiling hot on a bed of fries, the chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. With a side of coleslaw and honey mustard dip, we had a love affair with this dish. Newfound favourite.

CUSTOMER SERVICE – A HAPPY SURPRISE

Now if you live in Oman, you would be well aware that even half decent customer service is not our strong suit. It is very rare that you go to someplace and be welcomed warmly, let alone greeted and served with energetic smiles and chit chat.

We received a brilliant service by our server for the night, the lovely Nina. Two extra points for that!

OVERALL RATING

The meal was a 10/10 for sure. Loved everything we ordered.

However, the portion size was humongous, probably due to the chain being American. Definitely took half to go (or Ruby Tue Go as they call it), but it was great value for money.

Also, their drinks menu is a little overpriced if you ask us. Overall prices are comparable to Nando’s.

All in all, though, fantastic meal. No regrets.
