Let’s talk some Essence Soo Glow today! Now tell me, who doesn’t love a good highlight? Whether you’re a fan of the whole Instagram (OH MY GOD MY EYES HURT!) blinding highlights or you’re looking for a healthy glow, we all love a little somethin’ somethin’ to add oomph to our makeup. The latest makeup trends are all about that glow! We are blessed with an innumerable amount of options to help us achieve that epic glow, but a lot of them involve breaking the bank. Also, there are a ton of formulas; ranging from powder, liquid, liquid drops, cream and even cream to powder!

So today, we are here to make your life easy and give you the one product you need to get that coveted cheekbone game on point from the drugstore without spending a pretty penny!

Essence Soo Glow! Cream to Powder Highlight

THE PRODUCT ITSELF

The Essence Soo Glow! Cream to Powder Highlight is, as the name suggests, a cream to powder formula that is a very creamy, almost oily texture that blends to a powdery finish. Now when we say powdery, we don’t mean cakey powder, but the most beautiful natural velvety finish. From the very affordable price tag, it is easy to assume that it would have chunky glitters and a texture emphasizing formula. However, this product took us by surprise when we first swatched it. It has a stunning sheen with teeny tiny shimmers but no chunky glitters at all. We have to give it to Essence for making such a lovely, natural yet buildable highlight that gives the skin almost a wet, lit from within look. And two points for pigmentation!

10 look on the bright side

For the price you pay, you can’t exactly expect fancy, luxury packaging. The product comes in a lightweight plastic, dome shaped pan which we expect can be broken easily, so be careful to not drop it!

It comes in two shades: 10 look on the bright side, which is a gorgeous gold champagne colour and 20 bright up your life, which is more of a pink tone.

The lasting power is decent, especially for the price. The great thing is, since it is a cream to powder formula, it can very well be worn on its own but you can layer it up with other powder highlighters to get an even more intense glow. However, if the layered product isn’t very finely milled, it can tend to look a tad cakey with the Soo Glow, so just be careful about that and you’re good to go.

Just to sum things up a bit:
